Hogwarts, Hogwarts,
Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald,
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling,
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare
And full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff.
So teach us stuff worth knowing,
Bring back what we forgot,
Just do your best
We'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot!

Victimae paschali laudes
Immolent Christiani.
Agnus redemit oves:
Christus innocens Patri
Reconciliavit peccatores.
Mors et vita duello
Conflixere mirando:
Dux vitae mortuus,
Regnat vivus.

Dic nobis Maria,
Quid vidisti in via?
Sepulcrum Christi viventis,
Et gloriam vidi resurgentis:
Angelicos testes,
Sudarium, et vestes.

Surrexit Christus spes mea:
Praecedet suos in Galilaeam.
Scimus Christum surrexisse
A mortuis vere:
Tu nobis, victor Rex,
Miserere.
Amen. Alleluia.

Dumbledore and Snape: Johno's theory

Before yesterday I was perfectly ready to believe that Snape was evil and Dumbledore was wrong for trusting him. Then along came Johno's theory from the perfidy.org site and I've completely revised the way I see it. (When you go to this page, you might have to click on a link "More Perfidious Goodness".)

Thanks, Johno, for what I believe is a great insight and one I believe to be more worthy of Rowling's genius than my original thoughts. They were based on my desire to believe that Snape, someone I find it difficult to like, is really on the side of Voldemort. I'll be developing more on this theory in a coming piece entitled "Dumbledore's Sacrifice".
