Move over, Rufus Scrimgeour!

I guess if you're a vampire like Jonathan "the Impaler" Starkey, stalking is the crime they are going to get you on. But the reason I had to post a link to this little piece of "weirdo news" is not because he is a member of the Vampires, Witches and Pagans Party. Nor is it because I'm intrigued by Minnesota politics. It was this line: "Among his proposals was one that would use impalement to execute murderers, rapists and terrorists. " That reminded me of Rufus Scrimgeour's "tough on crime" stance in Half-Blood Prince. I don't know, I kind of like the public spectacle aspect of impalement. But for Pete's sake, Mr. Starkey, do you think Americans, even Minnesotans, are ready for a vampire to be Governor? They should have started with a Pagan or Witch - I'm sure there are plenty of those in politics already. Heck, I'd vote for Hermione....
