Hogwarts, Hogwarts,
Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald,
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling,
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare
And full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff.
So teach us stuff worth knowing,
Bring back what we forgot,
Just do your best
We'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot!

Victimae paschali laudes
Immolent Christiani.
Agnus redemit oves:
Christus innocens Patri
Reconciliavit peccatores.
Mors et vita duello
Conflixere mirando:
Dux vitae mortuus,
Regnat vivus.

Dic nobis Maria,
Quid vidisti in via?
Sepulcrum Christi viventis,
Et gloriam vidi resurgentis:
Angelicos testes,
Sudarium, et vestes.

Surrexit Christus spes mea:
Praecedet suos in Galilaeam.
Scimus Christum surrexisse
A mortuis vere:
Tu nobis, victor Rex,
Miserere.
Amen. Alleluia.

Owl Post

I knew I was on the right track in shooting for going to Fordham ... this morning, in getting back to the usual run of things after my father's funeral and the settling back down of things, I was rifling through the folder of material with Fordham's letter of admission, trying to get the acceptance back in by the deadline and all - and I came across the 1 page "Congratulations" edition of the Newletter for Graduate Students

- a newsletter which called ... "The Owl." For a Potterhead, a thing like this is pretty much almost along the order of a sign from God.

Wow - that's way too cool. In arriving at Fordham, I think you should eschew the George Washington Bridge for a ride across the Hudson with a half-giant!

Yeah, 'twould be very cool to take a first years' ride across and up the Hudson to the Bronx ... Interstingly, the professor who was copied on my acceptance letter is Mary Callaway, one of the OT specific faculty, and at her picture on the website (which I cannot seem to find on their site right now, I saw it a number of months ago thought) seems to be kind of like a shorter haired MCGonnegal (although Minerva always wears her hair in a bun so it sort of matches) ... since she's the one copied on my acceptance letter and I'm focussing in OT, I guess that means I have officially been sorted into Griffyndor.

but with a flaming red beard and the Weasley gravity towards Griffyndor, what else should I have expected?

And you know, The Rose hill Campus is in the North Bronx, and Bronx is The Northen part of NYC - just like Hogwarts is North of London and the central part of England ... making it basically in Scottland, and I have several times been mistaken for the Hamish character in Braveheart.

Life is so much more fun when you can think of it in terms of good literature and movies :)

Oh yeah, just found Callaway's picture at:

I just have to work on trying not to aggrivate her as Harry and Ron aggrivate MM sometimes LOL

HAHA, why have I not heard the term Potterhead before?! Awesome :)

Blogger Pauli said ... (April 04, 2006 2:30 PM) :

Merlin's existence is a textbook example of "life imitating art".
